Rescue teams in Surfside, Florida will work all night Friday to search for victims of the deadly partial collapse of a condominium – since there are still 159 people left not registered, officials said.

“God willing, there will be good news later tonight or tomorrow morning.”

On the second day of the rescue and recovery mission, internationally recognized aid workers from South Florida were joined by a task force from Mexico, three national task forces and workers from Israel, officials said.

Workers continued to use dogs, sonar and video equipment to detect something signs of life as they cleared debris from the structure, who “pancaked” and collapsed in a smoldering mound of twisted metal and concrete Thursday morning, killing at least four people.

In the first hours after the collapse, emergency services used aerial platforms and ladders to evacuate at least 35 people from intact parts of the building.

At a nearby reunification center, relatives of missing residents were fed and sheltered, and prayer services were held as the Jewish Sabbath began in the heavily Orthodox community.

Many people waited at the center for results of DNA swabs that could help identify victims.

“We are here working, praying and still hopeful,” Levine Cava said.
