Cameron Tringale puts a questionable PGA Tour stamp

PALMHAVEN, Fla. – Cameron Tringale earned a dubious accolade at the Valspar Championship this week.

By finishing in third place with Viktor Hovland and earning $ 407,100, Tringale became the answer to the question: which player has won the most money without ever winning a PGA Tour event.

33-year-old Tringale entered the week for $ 37,390 behind Englishman Brian Davis, who previously held the award with a profit of $ 13,374,228. Tringale is now at the top of the list with $ 13,743,938.

When asked if he was aware that he was about to achieve the goal, he simply said, “No.”

Tringale finished second in his career at the 2015 Zurich Classic in New Orleans and came second twice at the Northern Trust 2014 and the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open 2016. He also took third place at the RSM Classic in November.

He won a crazy season event, the 2015 QBE Shootout with Jason Day.

Tringale, who turned pro in 2009, entered the World No. 89 week and was No. 149 on the all-time Tour money list.

He has made 298 starts, the most on the Tour without a win since 2009.

Tringale signed on Sunday for a 3-under 68 and a total of 72 holes of 13-under 271.
